This morning when I was fixing my daughters some pancakes the eggs reminded me of pictures I’ve seen on the Internet of eggs with hilarious facial expressions drawn on them.

They are mostly about terrified eggs about to meet their doom. If you want a good laugh, google “facial expressions eggs.”

The one above is my contribution to the series: one little egg who decided not to worry and chill.

You know, now that I think of it, I don’t think I can break those eggs anymore 🙁

But my daughters did get their pancakes because I had already broken some before I trapped myself like that.

Sharing in our Growth

You ever have one of those experiences where you stumble across something that totally changes your life? There is a quote that I really like that says, “We are here to teach what it is that we need to learn ourselves”. I would like to share with you how that quote played a part in the creation of my first book Brian’s List – 26 ½ Easy to Use Ideas on How to Live a Fun, Balanced, Healthy Life!

It was in early 2008 as I was struggling with the decision to leave the family business. Now for those that know me, I am a very driven person and this driven nature has served me well through the years (cross country bicycle ride, triathlons, etc.). And being the driven person that I was, I wanted to do a couple of things to figure out why I was feeling out of balance and not myself. After some contemplation I realized that I was burned out from my job. I wasn’t fulfilled there, nor was I growing anymore. I knew it was time for a change. The second thing that I did, I thought it would be a good idea to come up with a handful of ideas that I knew would keep me balanced and centered while I was going through this potential transition in my life. So I put on my self-awareness cap and wrote down 5 things on a piece of paper. From that day forward every time I began to feel out of balance or out of center, I would refer to my list and read it.

Number #1: Make sure I was drinking enough water daily.
Number #2: Make sure that I was getting some daily exercise.
Number #3: Make sure that I was getting enough sleep each night.
Number #4: Allow some time each day to have some alone time so that I could re-energize my system.
Number #5: Allow some time each day to be creative. For me being creative means to write or play my guitar.

My little plan helped me out so much as I worked through my transition that I thought hey, why don’t I expand the list and make it into a book to help others in the same way that I helped myself. So that it was I did! And boy, am I glad that I did. I learned a lot about myself in the process, I have met some amazing people at book signings and workshops, the book won a couple of awards (which I am still pinching myself) and most importantly I know that the book has helped others in the same way that I was able to help myself. And for that I am very proud. And not only that, but as I learned how to find balance in my life I began to truly realize why It is so critical to have it in our lives for many different reasons, most importantly because it gives us a solid base from which to operate. Without a solid base, it is very difficult to stay focused and move forward toward our goals and dreams. Without balance it can also be a struggle to listen to our intuition and guidance, which is crucial as we learn how to follow our hearts and move forward on our path. Another reason it is important to have balance in our everyday life is because balance makes it possible to be fully alive and to live by making choices in the moment. In balance we have the energy, attention and space in our lives to seize new opportunities. We can live proactively, not reactively.

So I think you can see how the quote “We are here to teach what it is that we need to learn ourselves” played a part in the creation of Brian’s List. As I worked on and learned how to stay in balance, my path has led me to help others do the same thing.

Where is your growth taking you? And how will you be able to help others from what you have learned about yourself?

♥

I just started with meditation. I’ve done it in the past but I have never gotten past the part where you patiently wait for your thoughts to quietly go away and you experience complete silence. I want that so bad! I can never get rid of my mind chatter and the constant singing a song in my head.

I don’t have a lot of time to read a lot of stuff about meditation so I’m doing it slowly and with whatever time I have. I want to learn it the proper way so bad! I want nirvana! I want oneness with the universe! I want answers!

But maybe you have to be a 9-year-old to reach nirvana fast like that. And maybe you do snap out of your 1 minute trance and scream blissfully, “I’m doing it! I’m doing it!”

Field Of Dreams

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Back CameraAbout five years ago a lad I know bought some acres that came up for sale. Some time passed and then, one day, a digger came in and began to make some foundations for his new home and, brick by brick, the house was built, standing tall with a majestic backdrop of mountains and fields. He moved in with his family and a new life began…

The years have gone by and many memories have been created in this tall house that stands quite majestically. Lots of work has taken place to prepare a field to the front of his home. First of all, it had to be levelled, then it had to be prepared for grass seed to be planted. A waiting game ensued to watch as the little green blades sprouted forth in all their glory, a gorgeous fresh green. Then, a fence was erected, walls were fixed, netting was put in place and fertilizer was spread. An amazing amount of attention to detail was applied over the space of a year and then, a couple of days ago, I had the sheepgreat pleasure of witnessing a much dreamed of moment when he reversed his jeep and trailer up to a gate and released his dozen sheep into the field in front of his home, the field of his dreams! The expression on his face was priceless and I watched as his wife recorded the moment from a distance! Now, to me, this meant nothing because I had not been involved in any of the unfolding of his dream but I knew that it was a moment he treasured. There was great excitement as we watched the twelve sheep run down the ramp into his field of dreams, it was amazing! I happen to know that this was his boyhood dream that I got to watch come to fruition, he was reaping his harvest after sowing seeds many, many years ago, a boy who had visualised it in his mind and now it was brought forth into reality.

Concept for real estate business and family home safety.

So, what would a field of dreams look like to YOU? What dreams have you had since childhood that you have visualised over and over again, what seeds have you planted that are ready and waiting to burst through the surface of your imagination and spring forth into reality! You see, the seeds are already planted, that happens automatically when you have a vision. So how can the dream become REAL? A lot of the time, when we see somebody elses dreams materialise, we think that it happens overnight. Well, if you ask anybody who has achieved anything, mostly they will tell you that it has taken many steps and determination and belief and unwavering faith and passion and 4-leaf-cloverdesire and focus! Don’t they say that an overnight success takes ten years! Now I’m not saying that it takes this long all the time. I have the belief that if you are passionate about something, nothing will get in the way of you manifesting it because ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’! When you feel real excitement about something, you just have a knowing within your very soul that it is possible to achieve and you are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it! You become like a large magnet attracting everything and everybody that will help you along your journey to reaching your field of dreams, it’s simply amazing to watch as it all unfolds.

So NEVER EVER lose faith in YOUR FIELD OF DREAMS because it is there already waiting for YOU to find it…

Until next time,

Love from me, Marie X

Nothing

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought, in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created. In order to do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; he must form a clear mental picture of the things he wants, and hold this picture in his thoughts with the fixed PURPOSE to get what he wants, and the unwavering FAITH that he does get what he wants, closing his mind against all that may tend to shake his purpose, dim his vision, or quench his faith. – Wallace Wattles.

Everything which exists is formed and defined by the thinking substance which fills the interspaces of the universe. We call it consciousness. It is the stuff from which our thoughts are created and from whence they take form. When we ask what consciousness is, the reply must be that it is all that exists in our reality and all which does not. Consciousness is infinite. It is merely our awareness of it that increases, allowing us to experience spiritual evolutionary growth.

Quantum physicists enjoy breaking down matter to the most minuscule particle possible; which might not even be the smallest there is, but only the smallest our current technology allows us to recognize. No matter how minutely we break down what we call matter, there will always be something surrounding it; giving it form and, what we call, existence. When these particles are combined in different ways, by the intelligent consciousness which surrounds them, objects of matter are created. This is how we have tables, people, trees, cars, animals and everything else which we have defined as existing in our world. That which does not exist we call nothing. However, by defining and acknowledging nothing, we are validating its existence. The undefined space, which we label as meaningless nothingness, that surrounds and permeates through particles of matter is actually what gives form and life to everything. It is The Force that the Jedi’s revere in Star Wars, and rightly so. What makes us what we are? I don’t mean our personalities, but why am I able to sit here at a computer and type? I am a collection of particles, atoms and molecules that is held together by…? I am held together by nothing and nothing works perfectly. All the space that surrounds every unit of the matter that forms me is what holds me together. The intelligent nothingness which gives me life is all around me and flows through me. Yoda was right.

All by which I am defined, is all that I am not.

It has also been shown in Quantum physics laboratories that electrons, our source of energy and light, jump from one course to another. This may seem uneventful at first mention; however, there is more to the story. When the electrons reposition from one path to a different one they don’t pass through space to do so, they only disappear and reappear. Where do they go in between? They go nowhere and that is where they energize. Nowhere is where there is nothing and that is where the source of light and life resides.

Magic is part of life.

Having said all this we can now see how silly it is for us to call the source of our Life Force Energy nothing and have it reside nowhere. We are so determined to view and define our existence in absolute terms that we have virtually cut ourselves off from the source. How did this happen? When we began to think as rational beings we had to disregard everything that couldn’t be explained logically; a system of accepted wisdom which grew from fear and an attempt to control life as much as possible. Prior to this, people were aware of the forces in life which could influence and affect transformation. Ooops, did I just define magic? The “M” word is like a weed. We try to stamp it out, but it always grows up between the cracks. We try to cheapen it by reducing it to a form of show business, but then along comes Harry Potter and we can’t stop people from loving the idea of magic.

Magic is part of life. When I can smile at someone and transform his or her face into a smiling one, it’s magic. Transformation is also part of life. Nothing, as we call it, is magic and that is what gives us form. The problem is that it is difficult to control people when they become aware that transformation is possible. If they were to become conscious that they have the power to change their lives by changing the way they think, they are then in a situation where they are able to choose their own belief systems, realize their own power, discover they can heal their body, mind and spirit, rise above the system which has taken control here on Earth and decide to be happy. It is then and only then that the control, by the dark forces, that has enslaved us, ends. When you’re happy, you’re energized, vitalized and you know that what they call nothing is more real than what we call something. When you feel a balance between the seen and the unseen, the real and the unreal, something and nothing, you create a state of wholeness, for it is then that the Life Force Energy, whose purpose is to raise you up, will flow through you freely.

How My Mother’s Death Granted Me New Life

I watched, as her breathing became more and more shallow, the pauses between breaths grew longer and longer. And then they stopped…. forever.

My mother was gone.

As my tears flowed, they weren’t so much for Mum’s passing; she had a long life (1920 – 2004), but for her lost potential.

You see, life had beaten her down. Oh, she was a fighter and a survivor, no doubt of that, but she had settled for less than her desires. Her fears of loss and lack won out and this made her bitter.

Yes, her time was a different time in history for women and it was not easy to rise above the status quo, but she had the chops to do it and in some ways she did, but not for herself. It was always for others. This manifested in a ‘silent victim’ persona she carried in her energy and the word ‘martyr’ was a common noun us kids kept unspoken but nonetheless acknowledged.

With her as my example, I almost walked the same path. It took me many decades to unravel this subconscious thread of knots, learn who I truly am and live my soul purpose, especially in my second half of life.

This is the time in a woman’s life when she comes into her own, can truly shine her brilliance and make a difference in this world.

If you are in this time of your life, I’m wondering, if you are longing to embrace something inside of you. Maybe you don’t know what it is, or you’re fearful, or you feel stuck in mud up to your waist. You’re tired of fulfilling someone else’s dreams, but never your own. You know there is more for you and you’re hearing the clock tick.

It’s taken me a lifetime, but I have learned what it takes to not die with your soul purpose unsung, and it’s my passion in my role as Intuitive Life Coach/Mentor to teach you and women like you how to shine your brilliance.

You Can Make A Difference!

One summer day a player sweated all alone in a gymnasium long snapping footballs from the half court circle on the basketball court to a target hanging on the wall underneath the basket. No one in that community had ever seen a player do that before.

A couple weeks later the same player walked up to local business owners at their place of business and handed them a card which stated the local football team was going to win a state championship that upcoming year. This was a feat the school never had accomplished. No one in that community had ever seen a player do that before.

During the season fans noticed the same young man playing offensive center. Every play he would sprint from the huddle to the line clapping wildly as if to say, “Here we come!” How long had that young man been breaking the huddle that way? All year – every game. No one in that community had ever seen a player do that before.

Later, during a playoff game, the same young man played ever single play of the game, never coming off the field during offense, defense and special teams. He was the only player who did. When the game was over he was so exhausted he collapsed on the way to the team bus. No one in that community had ever seen a player play to exhaustion before.

Finally, during the state championship game, this young man snapped punt snaps on a field covered with eight inches of snow hitting the punter right in the hands. What made the feat more remarkable was he was wearing a pair of gloves that he could not remove because they had become frozen to his hands. The team went on to win the first state championship in school history thus fulfilling the prediction of the card. No one in that community had ever seen something like that ever done before.

Years later a call was made to the former player. “Your teammate has cancer. We need you.”

On a Sunday afternoon the player stood in front of a crowded banquet hall. He spoke about courage. He spoke about teammates. He spoke about loyalty. He spoke about love. Over $80,000 were raised that day for medical expenses. No one in that community had ever seen that done before.

In life when you do what no one has ever seen done before – YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
