Field Of Dreams

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Back CameraAbout five years ago a lad I know bought some acres that came up for sale. Some time passed and then, one day, a digger came in and began to make some foundations for his new home and, brick by brick, the house was built, standing tall with a majestic backdrop of mountains and fields. He moved in with his family and a new life began…

The years have gone by and many memories have been created in this tall house that stands quite majestically. Lots of work has taken place to prepare a field to the front of his home. First of all, it had to be levelled, then it had to be prepared for grass seed to be planted. A waiting game ensued to watch as the little green blades sprouted forth in all their glory, a gorgeous fresh green. Then, a fence was erected, walls were fixed, netting was put in place and fertilizer was spread. An amazing amount of attention to detail was applied over the space of a year and then, a couple of days ago, I had the sheepgreat pleasure of witnessing a much dreamed of moment when he reversed his jeep and trailer up to a gate and released his dozen sheep into the field in front of his home, the field of his dreams! The expression on his face was priceless and I watched as his wife recorded the moment from a distance! Now, to me, this meant nothing because I had not been involved in any of the unfolding of his dream but I knew that it was a moment he treasured. There was great excitement as we watched the twelve sheep run down the ramp into his field of dreams, it was amazing! I happen to know that this was his boyhood dream that I got to watch come to fruition, he was reaping his harvest after sowing seeds many, many years ago, a boy who had visualised it in his mind and now it was brought forth into reality.

Concept for real estate business and family home safety.

So, what would a field of dreams look like to YOU? What dreams have you had since childhood that you have visualised over and over again, what seeds have you planted that are ready and waiting to burst through the surface of your imagination and spring forth into reality! You see, the seeds are already planted, that happens automatically when you have a vision. So how can the dream become REAL? A lot of the time, when we see somebody elses dreams materialise, we think that it happens overnight. Well, if you ask anybody who has achieved anything, mostly they will tell you that it has taken many steps and determination and belief and unwavering faith and passion and 4-leaf-cloverdesire and focus! Don’t they say that an overnight success takes ten years! Now I’m not saying that it takes this long all the time. I have the belief that if you are passionate about something, nothing will get in the way of you manifesting it because ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’! When you feel real excitement about something, you just have a knowing within your very soul that it is possible to achieve and you are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it! You become like a large magnet attracting everything and everybody that will help you along your journey to reaching your field of dreams, it’s simply amazing to watch as it all unfolds.

So NEVER EVER lose faith in YOUR FIELD OF DREAMS because it is there already waiting for YOU to find it…

Until next time,

The Four C’s For Success

“The secret of making dreams come true can be summarized in four C’s.They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy; and the greatest of these is Confidence.” ~ Walt Disney

I had the very good fortune of being present at a wonderful tennis match between two gentlemen this afternoon. The power and focus that was displayed on the court was amazing with each of them ‘in the zone’ and playing their game with poise and passion. Each stroke that was taken was fuelled with hours upon hours of practice and dedication and I was in awe of the sheer energy that was poured into each move that they made. I instantly became aware of how each player was so at ease with himself and with the other, there was a camaraderie between the pair of athletes and the utmost respect for each other and all that was present to watch the game. I knew that I was witnessing the culmination of years of dreaming, climbing, falling, sweat, practice, determination, sacrifice, exhilaration, excitement, disappointment, laughter, learning, growing and maturing… it was really seeing life in action! These guys had mastered their art, they just made it look so easy, they were in such a flow with their game and there was no thought about where to put their feet or how to hold their racquets! It was pure magic!

curiousSo let’s take a look at the four C’s that Walt Disney is talking about and how they somehow played a part in the development of the picture on the tennis court today. First of all, Curiosity… oh how I love that word and everything it represents! I believe that curiosity is such a wonderful gift in life, it is a quality that injects lots of excitement into our lives, it encourages us to seek out answers and pursue new avenues in the world! It is what propels us towards new inventions and unique possibilities to create something new! I’m sure every person that ever achieved anything had bucketloads of curiosity to fuel their desire to bring it forth into physical reality!

confidenceThen there is Confidence… yes the big C! This ten letter word carries within it the means by which any of us will ever achieve anything! You can have all the curiosity, courage and constancy in the world, but if you don’t have the confidence in yourself and your ‘game’, your dream may remain a dream forever. When you feel confident within yourself, you can literally achieve anything! You feel invincible, you have a very healthy love for yourself and what you have to offer to the world and you know, without a doubt, that you can do it! A confident person has a very distinct air about them, their energy is huge and their presence is palpable, even when it is being quietly confident. I have had the great honour of being in the company of some confident individuals and it is a very attractive quality to have. In fact, confidence is irresistible!

courageThe third C is Courage… oh this is such a large ingredient in the recipe for making your dreams come true! You can have a heart full of dreams and desires, an imagination brimming with ideas and adventures, but if you don’t have the courage to walk fearlessly in their direction, you may indeed remain a spectator all your life and keep hidden all these wonderful treasures that lie within you! A great friend of mine once said that fear is just a flag waving and saying “hey, new experience over here, come this way!” Yes, fear can paralyze any one of us and keep us playing small in this life, but if you could develop the courage to race after your dreams, they will soon become real!

dreamsAnd now Constancy… yes, when one is consistent in their thoughts, words and deeds, remains steadfast and faithful to their dream and is unwavering and dedicated to their passions, a path of excellence unfolds before them and becomes a habituated way of being. When you ‘show up’ on a consistent basis for your life and what you are passionate about, it becomes like second nature for you and you begin to flow with such ease and poise, it just seems effortless! You enter into ‘the zone’ and there is nothing else only what you are doing right in the moment! This is where you access the power of the Universe and you allow this magnificent energy to flow through every cell of your being! You seem to somehow get out of the way and the miracle of life gets to come out to play! How awesome!

So, yes I guess the four C’s most definitely played their part in the lives of both tennis players … they each had to be Curious about how their dream of being a brilliant tennis player could become a reality, they both needed to feel such self Confidence to be able to step into their roles every step of the way…, each of them had to have the Courage to face any fears that they would have encountered along their journey and both had to choose to adopt Constancy as their best friend from an early age in order to bring to the court a most magnificent match of tennis today!

So, whatever you dream about, whatever you are passionate about, whatever gives you a fire in your belly… adopt the four C’s and watch as they become your reality! Life is MAGIC!!!

Everything Starts With A Vision

“It costs you nothing to dream and everything not to!” ~ Rodney White

Anybody that ever achieved anything in history started with a VISION!

hillarytensingAt 11.30am on May 29th 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norguay reached the top of the world, they were the first men to climb to the top of Mount Everest. For thousands of years, people had tried to reach the top, people died trying, so the general thought was that it couldn’t be done. And, since then, over a thousand people have done it! It suddenly became possible! Now I’m sure that these two men didn’t know how they were going to do it, they just knew that they would! Edmund Hillary was an ordinary Beekeeper in New Zealand, where did he ever get the idea that he could reach the top of Mount Everest when it was the belief that anybody that went up there would die. Tenzing Norguay was a Nepali Sherpa Mountaineer.

thomas-edison-lightbulbThomas Edison illuminated the world by having a vision of inventing a light bulb. Apparantly, he failed 1,000 times before he succeeded and when he was asked how did it feel to have failed 1,000 times he said he didn’t fail, that it took him 1,000 steps to succeed! I’m sure Mr. Edison didn’t know how he was going to do it, he just knew that he would!

Take a look at the Wright Brothers, two bicycle mechanics that had a vision to invent air travel, look at how this has changed humanity! Can you imagine our world without it! It opened up a whole new world to all of us!

1903-flight-wright-airplane

So what if these gentlemen hadn’t had their vision and an unwavering belief that they could achieve it! The were ordinary men that achieved extraordinary things. It didn’t cost them anything to have their dream, did it? And look at the outcome.

vision

So what would YOU really like? What are YOUR dreams and visions? I would like to encourage you to create the life of your dreams and to live the life of your dreams! Think about what you would like because ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE and that has been proven in history over and over again! So come on, it will cost you absolutely nothing! What are your passions, what do you/would you love to do, what interests you, what lights you up? Get your vision going, feel it, get all your senses going as if it already exists, CLAIM IT! See it as already existing and KNOW that it is possible to reach it, all the time being grateful for what you already have.

Saipan. One hands is holding a glass sphere and it projects the sky and the clouds at the beach. And I know, sometimes there can be a little voice in your head that will say “I’m not good enough or I’m not rich enough or I’m not confident enough or I’m not…” the list is endless! Just know that this is only a programme that is running in your subconscious mind that has been playing over and over again. The good news is that you can begin to start running a new programme from now on. You can create this new programme by reminding yourself over and over again on a daily basis of who you truly are with inspirational books, cds, dvds, personal mentors, visualisation, meditation, etc and, over time, this will become a habituated way of being and just watch as the magic unfolds!

The Gift Of Forgiveness

“FORGIVENESS IS A GIFT YOU GIVE TO YOURSELF” … SUZANNE SOMERS

As I was preparing dinner today, I accidentally stood on our pet cat Millie’s tail. As she cried and ran off to find comfort away from my big feet, my daughter ran after her with me hot on her heels to try and sooth the pain by giving her some cuddles. Without any fear of being tramped upon again, Millie allowed herself to be lifted and loved, no hesitation or no judgement of ‘how could you do that to me!’… And my daughter immediately said ‘Ah Millie, you are ALWAYS so quick to forgive!’ What an amazing observation!

Cat-wallpaper-10Now, I know that it was an accident and I didn’t mean to step on Millie’s tail. However, I kinda felt bad that it had happened. When I began to think about it, I started to look at it from two different perspectives…my own (causing the pain) and Millie’s (receiving the pain). So let’s have a look. As Millie was minding her own business, watching the world go by in our kitchen (she loves to follow you around observing everything that is going on!), she got stepped on! Using this as an example (a very basic one I know), let’s look at ourselves in our own lives. We can be traveling along through time, seeing all that is going on in our environment and having an interest in lots of things. Then, suddenly, something can happen that can trigger off some discomfort or pain and we run away to try and find some solace and relief. We start to blame the external circumstances for inflicting this pain and we can feel angry, upset or confused, wondering what did we do to deserve this! However, unlike the cat, we can hold on to these feelings for longer than a few seconds, sometimes they can last days, weeks, months or even years, causing a lot of internal turmoil and pain! We bury ourselves in the drama of this event and shut ourselves off from ever finding a peaceful solution. When my daughter so innocently said “Ah Millie, you are ALWAYS so quick to forgive” I was looking at it through the eyes of a child and everything seemed so simple. The fact was, I didn’t mean to inflict the pain, the cat wasn’t aware if it was an accident or not, and my daughter just wanted to love! And everything moved forward naturally, DRAMA WAS OVER! NEXT!

So, let’s just be aware that, sometimes, people can say or do something that happens to trigger a reaction within ourselves and they are genuinely not aware that they are doing it, it is not intentional! And we can spend hours torturing ourselves over it when IT MEANS NOTHING! The likelihood is that it has just re-activated some previous memory within ourselves! I love this quote by Shakespeare “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so”, it is such a wise observation and so very true. It is our thought about the so-called event that causes us to feel the pain, not the actual event. The same thing would not cause even a flicker of a reaction in somebody else… don’t you think that’s very interesting indeed!

moving-forward2So, like Millie the cat, let us move on from anything that is annoying us, forgiving (even if there is really nothing to forgive) and allowing ourselves to be free again! No matter what the circumstances, and I do understand that many people can be faced with very difficult circumstances, forgiveness really is a gift that you give to yourself. It allows you to return to a peaceful place within yourself, and this is the greatest feeling in the world! You are here for a limited time only, so please don’t spend it holding on to unforgiveness! The high price that you have to pay is really not worth it, every cell in your body is aware of how you are feeling so LET GO…

Until next time,

Love from me, Marie XXX

Love Love Love

“No matter what happens, believe in LOVE, a force so strong, so real, so magnificent, so healing, so beautiful, so exciting that it transforms everything in its path!

Where there is the greatest LOVE, there are always miracles!” … Marie Fay

I read a wonderful story this evening about a husband and wife who were together for 70 years, and, after all that time, they died within hours of each other. It just made me stop and think about how beautiful it is that they would not have to live without one another after sharing the majority of their lives together. It is rare that you hear such a lovely story and it did make me smile.

Romantic_Love_WallpapersNow when we think of love, we usually automatically jump to the kind that is associated with romance and couples and first kisses and fuzzy tummies and starry eyes and dates and marriage. How many movies and books have been written about this amazing topic!? Yes, this is definitely a beautiful kind of love and one that most of us wish to experience at least once in our lifetime. It is like a natural instinct that we feel when we reach our teenage years, a desire to feel a deep connection with another soul. I reckon the biggest topic of conversation on the planet is about romance and relationships! When we fall in love, everything seems possible, the world looks beautiful, we are bursting to share how we feel with the other person and we want to shout it from the rooftops. After a while, we settle into the relationship and the early buzz calms down. It is in the lifetime of shared experiences afterwards that the real love blossoms!

baby-loveThen we have the kind of love that is shared between family and friends. We all live in a world that is based upon relations with others. The first kind is the bond that is formed between baby and parent. A newborn comes into the world full to the brim with unconditional love, it knows only to be its glorious self and it oozes love from every pore. The love that a parent feels for a child must be one of the strongest forces in the universe, even if it is not always obvious, a parent carries a child in their heart forever. They say that if a child is in danger, a parent could do the “impossible” to keep them from harm. Then, later in years, a child begins to form friendships and strong bonds are made, sometimes to last a lifetime. The kind of love that is shared between friends is magic, friendships create the most beautiful mosaic of love and it is very special indeed.

Pet-loveAnother kind of love is the one that we feel for our pets, this can be a magnificent experience because an animal places no conditions on us and will always greet us with love. I once read an article about how a man asked a young boy what his definition of love was and the boy said “It’s when your dog licks your face”… the man thought that this was a lovely reply, but then the boy added “even when you have left it at home alone all day!” Not a lot to be added to this, eh?

heart-meAnd then there is the most important kind of love in the whole world … SELF LOVE! The greatest relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself! Everything begins and ends with YOU! How you feel about yourself determines how you feel about every single person you encounter along your path. And sometimes this can be the greatest challenge for us, loving and accepting ourselves just the way we are! When you fall in love with yourself, a force is unleashed within you that transforms your life and everybody’s lives that you encounter! It is unstoppable, it is magnificent, it is amazing, it is healing, it is powerful, it is truly miraculous! Love is the greatest gift that you can give to yourself and to the world! Yes, where there is the greatest love, there are always miracles!

“To love the world unconditionally, you must unconditionally love yourself” … Marie Fay

The Elephant and the Rope

“There are no failures, just experiences and your reactions to them!” … Tom Krause

There is a story about a man who, as he was passing some elephants, suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

elephant2He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” the trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? I think every one of us can relate to this story and the feeling of having failed at something or another over the years. Over time, we can begin to think that we are not capable of doing a particular thing and we accept this as the truth and limit ourselves to a very confined world. We think to ourselves ‘ah I tried that before and it didn’t work out, what is the point in trying it again and wasting my time, I don’t want to look like a fool!’ And this is how we start to shrink and contract and settle for a life that is ‘safe’ and ‘less than exciting’. However, if we could look at all the so-called ‘failures’ in our lives as just stepping stones along our path and decide to respond in a way that is positive, saying ‘ah well, at least I tried, now I know what doesn’t work so it makes my next attempt clearer!’ Treat it like a process of elimination, gathering momentum and staying focused on what we would like to achieve, trying this way and that until we succeed!

So, don’t limit yourself to a small world, stop confining yourself to a life that is restricted, break free of your mental boundaries and expand out into this magnificent kingdom that we live in! The world is your oyster! Don’t confine yourself any longer to the belief that you can’t do something, shatter those thoughts and beliefs and spread your wings and fly! YOU can do anything you set your heart on, if you just believe it! Go on, just try it and never mind what the outcome is, just enjoy every experience you encounter in your life and embrace every bit of it! So what if it takes you 10 attempts or 100! Which will you regret more…the things you did or the things you didn’t do?! It’s all a journey so let’s make it AWESOME! You will never know how far you can go until you have the courage to do it! And if you fall, just get up again… that’s all!

So until next time,

Love from me, Marie X

Illuminate the World

Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, you owe me…

Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky!” … Hafiz

I just love this quote, it says so much in those few words, short and sweet and filled with beauty! I feel very good indeed when I read it, offering me an image of such a loving, giving, kind, smiling sun that always shines, no matter what! So why does it feel so good I ask myself? I suppose I never really thought that way about the star that shines so brightly 24/7, day in and day out, relentlessly sharing its light with all that it encounters, having no demands on receiving a ‘thank you’ or a recognition or praise in any way. We are so quick to take our beautiful sun for granted, awakening each day to its light, to its warmth, to its shining in full glory (well sometimes hiding behind the clouds hehe). And if it is hidden by some grey clouds, we complain and moan about it and hope that a re-appearance is made real soon!

So how can we adopt this awareness in our everyday lives. It seems like a tall order doesn’t it?! Well, at least let’s be open to the possibility of it in some shape or form! It certainly encouraged me to think about myself and my life in a different way, reaching for the realisation that it feels good to shine from the inside out with love, offering light and warmth without expecting anything in return, just doing it because I want to. I have been blessed along my journey to have encountered some ‘bright, shining suns’ and, I have to say, they make this quote seem like it was written for them! It is such a wonderful experience to spend time in their company, NEVER expecting anything in return, loving who they are and what they do.  What I have noticed is that, when you experience this kind of unconditional love, you thrive! And, guess what, you start to become it yourself! It’s like you rise to the vibration and become like the energy that you are surrounded by, it is very interesting indeed! The illumination of the person seems to ignite the light within you and this offers you an opportunity to become like the sun yourself, revealing your true essence!

So really, the concept of this quote is to ask yourself what you can bring to the world rather than what you can get from it! How can YOU share your light, what can YOU do that will brighten up somebody’s day? What are your gifts and talents that you, and you alone, have that are just bursting to be shared and enjoyed! The planet is waiting to be illuminated by YOU, the choice is yours! Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean that you neglect yourself either… in order to give 100% of yourself, you must feel 100% fulfilled. In fact, it seems to be an automatic thing that, when you feel fully filled, you just overflow naturally! And, here’s the thing, when you give with an open heart, the Universe will conspire to the nature of your song and shower you with all the love in the world! It’s totally MAGIC…

So, together, let’s ILLUMINATE THE WORLD!!!

Love from me, Marie X
